Hey! We are Andrea and Jon Bentley. We have 5 children; Beau, Caprie, Monroe, Charlie and Stevie. Monroe struggled with allergies, and asthma, and was admitted to the hospital multiple times during her first year of life, due to difficulty breathing. Jon and I made the tough decision to re-home our sweet lab, because the hair and skin were affecting Monroe too much. We were heartbroken letting a family member go, but knew that we needed to do what was best for our little girl.
When Monroe was 18-months-old, we found her sneaking off at a close friend's house to play with their Goldendoodle puppy. To avoid any allergic reaction, we tried to hurry and separate the dog, but after careful watch, we noticed that Monroe didn't have any reaction. Looking back, we noticed how gentle and loving this Goldendoodle was with Monroe who was also recently diagnosed with Autism.
After lots of research, they made the decision to adopt their sweet Goldendoodle, Izzy. Izzy has been a gentle protector to all of our kids; and a huge asset to Monroe and the social challenges she faces.
